February 15th is the 46th day of the year in the Gregorian Calendar. On this day 1,586 years ago, the year 438, Theodosius II published the law codex Codex Theodosianus. Theodosius II was the seventy-second Roman emperor, over 400 years before Julius Caesar. The Codex Theodosius, or the Theodosian Code, was made to codify all laws spanning from 312 to 438. It took twenty-two scholars and nine years to assemble what became sixteen books containing over 2,500 constitutions.
